Torque arm poly bushing question

Do they work, does anyone recomend them? Can you see any improvement good or bad? Thanks, Ron.

Ron, I installed one when I put my transmission back in- wow! It was a very noticable improvement, not only did turns feel better, but going straight also seemed improved!

You have to re-use the original bushing's metal sleeves, you do this by drilling out the rivets holding the rubber in. The hardest part was compressing the metal sleeves around the poly unit, and trying to get the top bolt in. I needed another pair of hands, or maybe vise-grips.

But yeah I definately recommend it! I have the Energy Suspension unit; Summit's also carring a Pro-thane unit that's half the price. I don't know if Pro-thane's a good name or not compared to ES.

Oh if you raise the rear of your car off the ground, and let the axle hang, there will be none of that "twist" that puts a hard finger-busting upward force on the torque arm. When the axle's in the air, the torque arm just hangs out in a relaxed state.

Thanks Tom. I think I will try to get one soon. My car has some bad weight transfer when I take off, the opposite of braking hard. Think this will help?

Just put one in. I used a large C-clamp (5") to compress the bushing when i installed it...made the job quite easy

I put one in and noticed no difference. Depending on the condition of the current bushing, results may vary.

Ron, I think it's mainly meant to help the car corner better, but it couldn't hurt. My car felt more solid going straight, but I don't know if will help your weight transfer problem.

Now that Justin brought it up, my old rubber looked pretty beat when I took it off the car.

Thanks all, I got the Energy Suspension bushing from Jegs for $11.99. I'll try to get it in this week end and let you all know if I can tell a difference or not.
