I have a 87 Trans Am 350 TPI with a 5-spd and it has 3.73 gears. Does anyone what the part numbers are to order to get the speed odometer to read correctly? It put the speed off by about 15 MPH so it shows about 80 when doing 65.

 

With a 5spd, your gonna have alot of work putting in the speedo gears. In the auto, its just in the tailshaft. In the manual, you have to drop the tranny Gimme your tire size and i'll see if i cant find some part numbers.

Did your 350 come stock with a 5spd?

Hello, The tire size is 245/50/16. It did not come stock with a 350 I just installed it about a month ago. My 305 died on me when I installed a new cam and had the heads done. Thanks for your help.

 

According to my book, the tranny gears for 3.73s and 245/50s are:
Drive gear 7 tooth purple # 14071731
Driven gear 21 tooth orange # 14090594 w/ sleeve # 25007350
I believe that this part numbers are for the elec speedo, but not 100% sure. The colors and the tooth count are correct however.
