Will someone explain the Corvette servo please.

Where does it go and what is different about it?
I have an idea of where....I'm just not sure.
I installed my own shift improver several months ago so I don't know exactly where this will go.
And last will this work in my 89RS?

there is a circular piece about four inches in diameter on the passenger side that is held in by a spring tension ring in a groove. pull that out and replace the appropriate parts within with the vette parts and
