I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY 700R4 SHIFTING WHEN I GIVE IT ALOT OF GAS. THE TRANNY HAS BEEN REBUILT AS WELL AS A SHIFT KIT INSTALLED, NONE OF THESE HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THE PROBLEM THOUGH. MY LOCAL TRANNY GUY SAID IT MIGHT BE THE GOVERNOR STUCK OR NOT WORKING PROPERLY. RIGHT NOW I HAVE THE TV CABLE SET WHERE IT SHIFTS GOOD BUT IT ISNT SET PROPERLY,WHICH I HAVE HEARD ISNT GOOD FOR IT. PLEASE HELP ME I DONT WANT TO HURT MY NEW TRANNY......

Remove the governor and adjust it until it shifts correctly. To do this you will have to buy a governor calabration kit. B&M sells this kit, it is around 30 dollars. The kit contains springs and weights that can alter your shift points. You will have to experment with it until you get it correct. It took me three tries to get it perfect.

One other note: Adjust the TV cable so that there is no slack left in the cable at full throttle. The TV cable should not be used as a tuning device, the governor is the tuning device.

is the governor a part that wears out , or is there a explination of why it is acting up? the b&m kit comes with directions right?
