Need instructions for 700r4 rebuild.

Hey,

I am thinking about rebuilding my 700r4 myself. Does anyone know how I can get instructions to help me? The kit from Summit does not come with instructions.
Also, does anyone have experience building one of these and can give me an idea as to how difficult it is??? I want to use strong parts that will take the abuse of my supercharged L-98.
Any ideas on a good stall speed is for a blown 350??

Phil

Merely replacing clutches and hard parts is no big deal. But to go through the transmission and replace all the seals, wich is highly reccomended involves using special tools. I don't have a set of instructions to "rebuild" the tranny, but if I were you, I would get a good exploded view of the tranny. The most common mistake is to put one of the Torrington Bearings in upside down, wich will wreak havoc on the tranny in a very short time. For a fisrt timer such as yourself, just get a large table, and lay EVERYTHING out as you pull it, and re-install in the exact opposite order.

Haynes has a repair manual for GM Transmissions (TH350,400,200r4, and 700r4). I used it to help rebuild my tranny.

As GMTech stated, to do a complete overhaul requires special tools. Become friends with your local GM dealers tranny man (that's what I did, he's one of my best friends now). I still have the manual and it has schematics and photos of each of the trannies.

Sparks a flyin'.
