Ford 9 inch swap. Would everybody hate me if i did it?

What would be the pro's of a ford nine inch over a gm 12 bolt if any?

To answer your topic question, no.

As for 9 inch vs. 12-bolt, the Ford pieces are certainly more readily available. But, an arguement can be made for the 12-bolt being more efficient - i.e., less loss to the wheels (energy, not torque).

the easy answer is hell no...a lot of people are using ford 9"'s in their thirdgens...

The 12 bolt, while nice is a bit harder to install in a thirdgen whereas companies already have bolt in 9" rearend's for thirdgen for about $2000...so it's you're call.

With the 12 bolt you need to buy a 12 bolt housing that has a torque arm mount cast into it. Either that or you're going to use ladder bars or a 4-link. With a 9" you can find anyone that will fit and buy the bracket to use the torque arm.

at a motorsports place where i live they said they can put a new nine inch on and new torque arm, panhard rod and lower control arms for like 2300 is that fair or to expensive? thanx for the help
