Number of splines on 1989 Axles

I'm going to purchase a new posi unit and I'd rather not have to crack open the differential to count the splines. Does anybody know if the 1989s are supposed to have the 26 or 28 spline axles?

Also, how many quarts of oil does it usually take to fill the differential up to the hole? I'm just curious b/c I need to know how much to pick up.

Any help is appreciated,

Jason

Around 1988, they changed over from 26 to 28 so by 1989, they all should be 28.

Thanks for the help, I thought they were 28 but I wasn't sure.
