does my posi still need gm addative

Engine: 385 tpi
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.42
does my posi still need gm addative

i was changeing the diff oil and am going to use molbil syn oil 75-90. i was wondering do i stll need to use the gm addative? i was guessin that gm did this back in the day for the lack of protection of mineral oil.

I put Mobile 1 75-90 in my rear, and the GM additive. I think I remember reading somewhere that you still need it, even with synthetic.

I don't think you need it if you have a 9 bolt.
