A friend of mine calls me and tells me he knows this guy that is selling his t5 out of an 88 or 89 Iroc. He wanted 100 bucks then went down to 80 bucks. I asked him if I can take it home and over look it. Its just the Tranny by itself. No Bell housing , no shifter etc. When I stick something in the hole where the shifter goes and put it in gear Im still able to turn the Tranny freely, doesn't matter what gear I put it in. Is it messed up ??

How much more stuff would I need to complete this change if I wanted to make it Manual ??

I love manual camaros and I would hate to hack up my 91 Z convert, but there aint nothing like shifting gears when YOU want them to shift and not the other way around !!

 

If you put it in gear, and turn the input shaft, and the output shaft turns too, then thats a good start. Even better if it does it fairly easy. $80 isn't bad... what do you really have to lose when its only $80?

 

hey Adam thanks for the quick reply ... yeah I put it in gear and the input shaft turns freely fairly easy and the output shaft turns aswell. I guess I purchase it and put it aside when I decide to convert.
