Advantages/Disadvantages of a manual valve body?

Will it still act like an automatic or does it have to be shifted all the time?

Are they recommended for street use?

I checked the archives and came across the term "engine braking" a few times. What exactly is this and how does it affect daily driving?

Thanks

Manual valve body is just that. Manual. You can start moving in any gear just like a standard. You have to shift each gear since the valve body won't up or down shift by itself.

A manual valve body is a race only component and not recommended for street use.

Well, I would like the ability to manually downshift my car without hurting anything, so what would you recommend?
