Can you narrow a 10 bolt rearend in a 3rd gen?
I was wondering, is it possible to narrow a 8.5 10 bolt rearend say out of a 2nd gen f body? I think i read somewhere that they are a little wider/narrower. I know the spring perches and everything are different. I didnt know how much trouble this would be. I dont think my stock rearend is gonna live behind my engine combo. Thanks. LilJay

You could, but you would have to move all the mounting hardware such as spring perches, LCA mounts and panhard bar mount over to the 8.5 diff. That's the easy part. You then have to find some way to attach the torque arm. The only other way is to install ladder bars or a 4-link.
If you're going to go through all that trouble anyway, why not modify a 12 bolt or a 9" instead.
