700R4 To TH350 Swap

Hey guys, my 700r4 finally went out and i had a 350 laying around. I bought the B & M swap kit and everything for the torque arm. Only problem is that my drive shaft is too short. I did a search and I couldn't find any info on it for this. I was wondering if there were any other vehicles drive shafts that would work with the swap or should i just have mine lengthened and balanced. any info would help, thanks

If its a 6" tail shaft a driveshaft from a 82 camaro or firebird with a TH200c or 4-speed will work.

I would slide the slip yoke into the back of the tranny all the way then pull it back out 1". Measure from center of u-joint on the tranny yoke to center of u-joint on the diff yoke. That's the length you need, I think it 41". then call your local wrecking yard they should be able to find you something.

Re: 700R4 To TH350 Swap

thanks but afterdealing with all my junkyards around here they are too lazy to do anything, not to mention the slim pickings in the yards. thanks for info but i guess i will just take my driveshaft to the machine shop and lengthen it. another question on this.If i have the 6" tail shaft, then the drive shaft will need to be lengthened 3" correct?

not really sure but instead of going to the machine shop to have them lengthen anything call muscle motorsports and just get a used nascar spicer driveshaft after you know the correct length it can be a little different for every car. They are around $50 and shipping the last I checked unless they raised the price but I don't think so. You should also replace the U joints.
