Re: ls3 tranny?

Either the 4L65E automatic transmission for an LS3, or the T56 6-speed manual transmission for an LS3 will work.

Well if that's your problem, most transmissions that you put in will be prone to break unless you take prior precautions to handle your power output. which route do you plan to go, auto or manual? if you go manual I believe it is sixspeedinc.com or something like that rebuilds your t56 to handle your power. Check out ls1tech.com, i believe they are a sponser there. Either way you plan to go, you will want to have the tranny built to specs and it will cost a pretty penny, let us know which route you go

Re: ls3 tranny?

im going auto do to my cvar being auto and i dont know how to drive stick. i was thinking od a 6l80e but i havent found any posts on how it would bolt in. the 4l80-e i have herd bolts right in but need a aftermarket torque bar. I any one know more about how a 6l80-e works in an f-body love to know. as far as money goes im planning my car to be a 3 to 4year project spending 8k on it each year, I'm replacing all the floor pans (they could be fixed but you know what they say pay me now or pay me later) i decided to go with sophn's tubular cradle and sub rails and there suspension (I dont know much how good they are so a bunch of reviews any input on there products would be grate too). Do to the car being smacked I'm replacing the bumper and brace same with front bumper, the hood is going to be a ram air fiber glass and im going with the notch back hatch. after all the body work is done then im going to be starting on the engine note I plan on having trani and engine pulled soon so when adressing the rust I can fix anything and everything. As stated above im bying an ls3 and prob going to go twin turbo after i change a few or a lot of internal parts lol. The trani and rear end was all i needed to choose. I know im a far way off but they say its better to have everything planned so your not sitting trying to make last minute choices. I have no atentions of racing her its just I want so i have the power and be able to take it to car shows(bragging rights). The car will mostly be a recreational summer car probably put a govener that can be turned on and off by a switch that way the car can be driven on the road.
