I know a good bit about engines but not to much about trannys.Can someone point me to a webpage that tells me how all those gears and convertors all work.It would be appreciated

Axle/Gears: it's part of the transmission
thats top secret!!! noone would ever put that on the web!!!just kidding,you might be better off checking out the auto section at barn & noble,you can sit on a sofa and read books without buying them just like a library.it's un likely that youll leave without buying something though.

Oh sure. I go to school for 4 years and have been a mechanic for 20 more and you want to learn it all from a web page? Knowledge can be passed on but you might as well be asking about quantum physics. Specific questions about specific problems can be easily answered. I'm not going into full details on how transmissions work.

Check out the garage section and you wil find all sorts of neat things. Then when you get done, there is a pretty good list of manufacter retailers that supply parts for thirdgens on in the links section.
But defiantely wind up getting a book in the future, you never know when you might need it
