new problem since I changed my rear tires!!
I just finished my project with 10 inch widened irocs on the rear with 295/35/18 and the car has a different look but as soon you are on low gerars and try to spin the wheels as soon the tires grip to the road a big vibration is coming from the rear to the front of the car!!
also noticed last weekend when drove the car with 4 adults no vibration occured!!
what you guys think?? I have no rubbing , the rims are balanaced and ok, at high speed no vibrations!!!
do you think my rear shocks need to be changed??
all bushings are as new and all tightened!!!
please let me know what you think!!

Is the vibration there while spinning too? I would say wheel hop, but i really dont know....
Could you describe the vibration a bit more? Is it side to side? up and down? or kind of everywhere?

Re: new problem since I changed my rear tires!!
Ok i need more info, because im stumped.
Theres not much that changes in terms of vibration when there is or isnt grip. The wheel spins, and if its hitting something or if its out of round, you would still notice a vibration all the time.
Allignment is something to be considered because that may change with or without load.
You need to try a few things and post more info. I would say;
1) Put the car up on stands, and spin the wheels (maybe even start the car) and drive up on stands, and have a buddy inspect for any contact or funny noises.
2) Drive at a few different speeds, see how the vibration changes. Maybe it only happens at low speed? (when your tires grip) and not at high speed (when your tires are slipping)....
Are there any noises you can identify while the vibration is happening? What kind of aftermarket suspension stuff do you have?

Re: new problem since I changed my rear tires!!
I already done all of this you asked me to do! and everything seems to be ok!!
all the suspension is as left the factory with! the car has only 16,000 miles (original) and everything is ok as said before!!
the wheels are not rubbing and also the wheels are not touching the body, and the wheels are perfect balanced,
before I had no vibrations because as soon I release the clutch the wheels spin and no vibrations with 19 years old tires and hard as stone!
you also mentioned wheel hop and I think you're right coz even a friend of mine told me that the problem is coming from the rear shocks as he told me that they are a single action and thats why ,wheel hopping is occuring
my next step is to fit new gas shocks and hope the problem will solve!
I will chck which shocks to buy and good postage rates to Malta and hope not to pay a lot of duty!
any other hints will be appreciated!

Re: new problem since I changed my rear tires!!
Wheel hop can be slowed by fixing shocks, but the problem is really with the lower control arms and how they attach to the rear axle.
Do a search, some guys have put some pretty good pix explaining the prob.
Maybe the wider tires just amplified it, but if everything else seems to be ok, its gotta be hop.
The only part that has me stumped is that it happens when thetires have grip.....

Could you share how your freind made those???
Did he modify the stock ones, or go from scratch? The craftsmanship looks good.

Re: new problem since I changed my rear tires!!
first of all i went under the car and removed the lca to make it simple to measure ,and with a piece of cardboard and a scissiors i had the deisgn ready!
i also measured the 6cm and the 7cm shown in the pic and went to my friends shop!
we cut 4 sides with a cutter from a 3mm sheet metal and after we make found a piece of hollow section of 7 cm thickness and began to weld the vertical sides and also rounded up th back as seen in other pics( fitted in the car)
i don t know what to say more!! if any help is needed just let me know!!
