electric speedo drive for 82 bird

I bought a '91 t-5 for my '82 firebird. My "?" is can I change the electric speedo drive to a mechanical speedo drive? The reason for changing is the computer has a speed sensor running off the mecnanical cruise control unit. I would like to keep the electric and go with the 140 mph speedometer. Can I bypass the speed sensor?

Hey, get ahold of Tom Keliher. His email is at the top of this forum, as a moderator. He might be still looking for an electric speedo, as the T5 he bought has a cable speedo. Maybe you guys can swap.
