Tranny's still messed up...

Well after a full night of working on the car (mostly the valve body of the tranny) to my "surprise" the symtomps didnt change one bit! It still wont shift out of first. LOL I took the valve body down, cleaned it, made sure all the valves move freely. I forgot to hook the manual valve "plunger" to the cam of the shifter cable so I had to take the valve body down again, wrestle with it for another hour to try to get the hook on it (that m****er is heavy, especially with that little clearance under the car).

However now it finally shifted into third, a very faint shift. I'm begging to think it's the fluid passage that goes to the governor that's clogged big time. Or maybe the screen that's supposed to be installed over the hole. Anyway, I just wanted to get some opinions because it's not like I'm gonna go trough the hell of taking that valve body again. Could it be that driving around somehow unclogged or unstuck the governor ?

p.s. I'm talking about a 700-R4

Well not it has 2nd. It will switch from 1st to 2nd at 3000 rpm (a veeeery soft shift) then the RPM go down for a couple seconds like it shifted into third, then right after RPMs quickly start to climb like it's back in 2nd. So I guess I lost third and forth.

Do you think 800 bucks is a fair price to get tranny rebuilt with everything upgraded in it and designed for racing ? There's s a shop here in Vegas that does em for the racers in town and they stand behind their trannys when they break. They say the warranty covers the tranny even if I race it, if THAT's what I tell em I want it built for to begin it with.
