Hey all i am new to this site and i am seeking some help ASAP last night my 87 camaro's reverse and neutral gears stoped working i would shift into that gear and i would rev the engine or just drive, i am curious as to what this is. A whole new tranny needed? or something smaller

 

From your description its had to be sure however it sounds like your forward clutches are seized(melted together) and you will need to rebuild or replace the trans
