Whats the Full Capacity of the 700R ?
I want to Change the Filter and all the Fluid, cause It is brown and bubbly
And I would like to mix Dexron and ATF for cripser Shifts, But What is the total Capcity Of the tranny in stock Trim ?
And How would I go about draining the fluid out of the Converter, without Dropping the tranny out ?
The fluid that is In there now is Toasted and I really want to get it all out.

This may be one of those situations that is best handled by the pros.I hear its a pain to change your tranny oil & filter.Besides the pros have those special machines that recover most of the old fluid, not to mention they can inspect the tranny and look for any signs of trouble.Tranny fluid has a pretty long life so you don't need to change it that often. Its worth the money in my opinion to let them handle it. Just my .02 cents

Not so hard. I've described the procedure here before.
Drop the pan and change the filter. You'll get about 5 qts out that way. Put the pan back on, refill what you've drained, then before starting it, disconnect the cooler line from the radiator and route it into a jug. Start the engine, have fresh ATF ready to pour in as the old is pumped out. Total capacity is about 10 qts. When you start seeing clean fluid coming out the cooler line, you know you're done. Reconnect the line, warm the tranny up, and check for proper level.
This is best done with two people, but I've done it several times by myself. The next thing after the convertor is the cooler. So, you're pushing out old fluid with new, and it will all be fresh when you're done.
I highly recommend using AMSOIL synthetic ATF for the refill. It comes in a 10-qt jug (as well as quarts). Convienent, huh?
By the way, if you don't like the idea of dripping ATF down your arm while dropping the pan, you can pump the fluid out of the pan by disconnecting the cooler line and pumping a gallon or so out. When the pump stops picking up fluid, shut off the engine. If you don't let it run after it's dry, you won't hurt anything.

Amsoil is the top of the line synthetic. Buy the 2.5 gallon container & two quarts, this way you will get the best price. Follow five7kids advice on changing the oil.
Hope This Helps!!!

I was always under the impression that ATF and dexron 3 were basically the same thing? Right on the back of the mobil 1 synthetic atf bottle it says "Dexron III product." Whats the difference?
