Well, I just recently added the Edelbrock Performer RPM package to my 69 350sbc engine on my 87 TA.(minus the performer carb).Anyways i had experience wierd and high RPM idle problems in my car.I am no mechanic so i took it to the local perfomance shop to get tuned and timing done.Well, they setup and got it going, but idle problems still going on, but the Tech told me i was in dire need of at least a 2500 if not a 3000 stall converter in order to get the idling right.Otherwise right now i am at 1200 rpm idle and 500rpm in gear (ouch). Anyways, does anyone think that the converter will do the trick?If so, what should i get and how much do those bastards cost? Like $350? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm not sure what problem you're actually having but if you need tranny parts try http://www.transtarindustries.com/ those guys are awsome and cheap....i've gotten parts from them before, they know what they are talking about....even if you call them and tell them your problem they can probably help you out .....good luck

 

I tried to email transtar, but they said they dont deal in heavy duty torque converters. Thanks anyways for the effort.
