car wont let me put it in 1st gear please help me.

i do not think this is the tv cable because i have adjusted it everyway possible. is there some other cable or something it could be? i just put in my new 383 and i could have something out of adjustment .

this car is an auto also and it always let me put it into 1st manually before i did my swap.

Does the shifter feel loose, if so check the shifter cable. I am sure you will get a lot of help if you descibe it a little more.
