700R4 to T-5 torque arm bracket difference?

I am converting my 86 IROC from a 700R4 to a T-5 this winter. I just bought everything i thought i needed to do the conversion but i was told that i would also have to change the bracket that attaches the torque arm to the tail shaft on the tranny. Are the auto and 5 speed brackets different?? Thanks in advance
