700 R4 blues>please answer

Hey guys,
A friend just got his '92 RS 305/700 R4. I swear by trans-go and their kits and recommended it to him. BUT>>>> Is it good to install shift kits (in general) on 120,000+ mile trannys? Is it worth it and will it perform as well on this sloppy tranny? The tranny does shift a little sloppy all round.
Thanks

I wouldn't do it. If the tranny already has problems, a shift kit won't fix it.

Well, it doesn't have problems>>>>>>>>but it shifts like a 120,000 mile tranny. What do you think??

What do you mean 'it shifts like a 120,000 mile tranny'. A well maintained and easily driven transmission will shift the same at 30,000 and 120,000 miles. If you're saying it slipping more than it used to, something is getting worn out. A shift kit won't replace the parts that are getting worn out. A shift kit might work, and postpone a rebuild. Or it might finish off your trans after a few hard shifts.
