T-5 grinding in first
T-5 grinding in first
Every once in a while i will try to put it in first gear from a stop and it wont want to go. It takes a few tries to get the shifter to go into first and when it does it grinds for a split second. The car has 130000 miles on it but the tranny seems to be doing fine otherwise. I heard something about synchros but am unsure what they are and what they do so any help would be apreciated.

If it's hard to get into first then it's probably not the syncros. Had you been unable to get into first and grinding at the same time then I'd blame the syncros.
I'm guessing it is related to a clutch releasing issue especially if it grinds in other gears. How far does the pedal have to travel off the floor until it starts to grab?

The clutch pedal does not have to musch travel i let my foot off a bit and it starts to grab so i guess that is normal. I just got the car so im gonna go thorough it and change all fluids maybe that would help
Thanks

Changing the fluids probably won't help this problem. A good idea to prevent future problems though.
The fact that it starts grabbing right off the floor probably indicates it's time for a new clutch or hydraluics. At 130,000 miles it's probably a stock clutch. The 'fingers' on the pressure plate have to travel much farther in order to release the clutch and it may not be releasing fully causing that grinding. If the clutch starts slipping soon don't be surprised.
