is the rearend on an RS a 7.5" or a 7.625"? I've seen both answers on this board. It's 28 spline correct?

 

should be a 7.625" and yes it is a 28 spline. If you pull the cover off and rotate the gears you should see teh gear info on the ring gear and it will tell you if it is a 7.5" or 7.625" but it should be teh 7.625".

The early 10-bolts in thirdgens are 7.5", and the later ones are 7.625". I dont know the changeover year but I think it was 1985.
