Well here i am, having spun 3 teeth off of my pinion gear i have lotsa choices to make now . What gears are the choice? What should i upgrade? The rear was/is a 85 7.65 3:42 posi,26 SPLINE. I don't have alot of cash though. i will put my 9 bolt 2.77 back in. for now time isn't that big of a deal being this far from race season. Who (if needed) should i get axles through? Also do you recommend using the old posi or looking for the 4th gen take-offs from slp?? HELLLLLLLPPPP. I don't know if i am cool for being in the "i just blew up my rear-end club" or S.O.L. for having a dead IROC thnx to all, you guys 'ROC

Hey man, I'm in the same boat. Cratered my rear, little cash, no car.

Rear ends are hard to come by around where I live unless you want drums back there (ugh). What stops a guy from putting disc brakes on a drum rear? I'm not afraid to fabricate.

I'm gonna keep an eye on this post. And I'll repost if I find anything man.

Good luck,

Kelly

Welcome to the club. I broke my spider gears and posi (Eaton Locker) last fall. The gears are okay, so I'm planning to upgrade to 28 spline axles and stick in a take-off Torsen from SLP.

IROCracer, the mounting flanges on the end of drum axles and disc axles are different. Drum axles have a rectangle-shaped flange with a hole in it (for the brake line), disc axles have a square-shaped flange. The bolt pattern's different between the two brake systems.

I suppose the drum flange could be modified...?
