hi i have a 88 gta and will be insatlling a motor with 400 to 600 hp at the fly wheel will the original diff and trans be up to the task or will i need to beef these up to handle the extra hp i would like to keep the car as original as possible it will just be a street car with ocassional drag use

 

Hey. yeah if you're going to be running 4-6 at the crank you're definately going to want to beef up the diff and trans a little. i had a stock 3.23 and i destroyed it after a couple thousand miles of 450 to the crank. and as for trans it really depend on what you're running now. i know stock t-5 transmissions are only made to handle 350. i'm not too sure on other specs tho. good luck.
