700r4 transmission (tcc plug???)

I bought my bird in november of last year and when i jacked the car up to my surprise (along with the rotted out floorboards, split y pipe and busted brake lines) a 4 prong connector was just sitting on top of my tranny and not even plugged in (those cheep *** holes )

How major is this?
if i plug this in will i stall the car?
how bad is this hurting my MPG's (its a 3.1)?
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP?

You need it plugged in to keep the temperature of the fluid down while you're cruising in overdrive.

Re: 700r4 transmission (tcc plug???)

Well, if the TCC solenoid was worn and stayed locked when coming to a stop, it may have been their cheap fix. That's okay to do on a 200-4R. It's not okay to do on a 700-R4 that's not modified to do it.

Re: 700r4 transmission (tcc plug???)

I have a somewhat related question. My TCC doesn't lock up at all. The only wires I see are connected into the VSS on the side of the tranny. Is that the same connector for the TCC solenoid, or should I keep looking?

It's not really ok on any overdrive transmission.

Different connector, further forward, facing upwards just above the pan.
