I'm working on a 88 firebird with a 2.8 and a 700R4. I've adjusted the shift linkage and TV cable the trouble is that the car either shifts too early and then jumps between gears at 60 + or shifts too late and jumps between gears at 30 to 40. If I manually shift I have all of the gears and the converter lockup is working as well. P.S. it doesn't jump all of the time but when it starts jumping sometimes it will continue until you back off of the throttle.
