im having a problem here

i bought a used 700r4 from somebody on this site. they said that it was from a 1989 firebird 5.0. the id no. on the casing proved it was from an 89. however i went to line it up with my engine today(89 iroc 5.0) and there is a stud at the very top of the point on the engine, and no accomodation for this stud on the transmission. all the other studs lined up with the holes though... is this trans for a v6 or is this just a camaro to firebird issue?

If it was a V6 transmission it wouldn't even be close to fitting.

Re: im having a problem here

The 7th bellhousing bolt location on the block wasn't used in the 70s or 80s. If you have the other 6, you're good to go.
