AHHH Tranny fluid leaking from T-56
It was fine for the first 2 days but now my tranny is leaking fluid quickly. It is coming between the tranny and bellhousing. maybe the input shaft seal has busted?? If so how could this have broken, how hard is it to fix? Also I had this transmission gone thru when I bought it could this have been cause by incorrect installation or would this must have been something there before?

If you converted from a manual did you put a pilot bearing/bushing in?

yes I did but it wasnt an easy fit so i got it as far as I could and we put the bolts in and then tightened them in a cross pattern and it forced the input shaft into the pilot bearing. but it is in there. how would it cause a transmission leak.

I just wondered if you had or not. If you hadnt I was going to suggest that could have made the input shaft to bend causing the leak. Sorry though I cant answer you question. But I would venture it is the front seal. I have no idea how hard it is to change either.
ive never done a front seal on an auto or manula but i think you just have to pop it out...it should be right there, where the input shaft goes into the case
