thanx

yeah there is and they're hard to find and you have to referance them to see what you have and i'm not sure where thay are. best and easiest thing to do is pull the cover and look at the carrier and the ratio stamped on the gear set.

If you just need to know the ratio, depending if you have posi or not, you can jack it up with the transmission in neutral and count how many driveshaft revolutions you have per rear axle revolution. A working conventional Posi is easier, since both rear wheels will turn together. With an open rear end or Eaton Locker, leave one wheel on the ground and divide the rear wheel turns by 2. You'll get a more accurate figure counting how many driveshaft revs per 10 wheel revs and you can confirm the exact ratio if you guess the number of pinion and ring gear teeth. For example, a "3.73" is actually 41:11, or 3.727272etc. It's easier if you have a helper to count the axle turns while you count the driveshaft turns. Of course if you have a manual, you can try decoding the stuff stamped on the axle, but it's not easy to read. You'll find it on the front passenger side of the axle tube. That's if someone hasn't changed the axle or gears, of course.
