i know that it is electronic as far as the actual speedometer goes, but, when i change my gears, how do i switch the speedo gear? where is it on the tranny?

Your 91 Camaro has an electronic speedo, and its on the driver's side of the trans, on the tailshaft.

Camaros switched to electronic speedo in 1990, Firebirds switched in 1987.

so...teh speedo has to be electronically "recalibrated" with a special tool?

No, you have to change the gears just like the rest. The sensor sends the signal to the speedo. It just gets rid of the cable.

I think there is something about it in the FAQ section.
