I bought my car as a basket case. I rebuilt the engine and helped with the trans. It runs and drives great now and is just broke in. I need to hook up the speedometer cable. The one that was in the car when I bought it is severly mangled. I have the new cable and it fits on both ends fine. Now for the questions:
-I have my guage cluster out and wondered if there is anyway to change the odometer reading to correspond with new drivetrain mileage(about 1200 miles now)other than turning it forward with a drill(takes too long)? (probably illegal?)
-Speedo cable has to make very sharp turn between trans and drive shaft tunnel. I think this is what trashed the last cable. How can I avoid this? My best solution is to drill a hole in tunnel directly across from trans hookup and route the cable along floor to door sill and up under dash, no sharp bends. Of course I would use a grommet in the tunnel hole. Looks like a good fit and fairly unnoticeable if hole is right at floor level. Do they make 90 degree speedo adapters as an alternative? Does the 700R4 have this same problem.
-I do not know what tooth speedo drive gears are in the tailhousing, I think one was pink or purple and the other was white, I should have counted the teeth while it was apart for rebuild. Does anyone know which gears I need for a 3.23 rear ratiio or does anyone have a chart for the ones available for a TH350? Are they the same as a 700R4?

Some of you TH350 owners must have the speedometer hooked up, right? Did you have any trouble?
