V6 chevy S10 torqueconverter in my 700r-4: can it be Done?
I'm trying to find out if I can use the converter out of a chevy s-10 v-6 700r-4 to put in my 84 700r-4,Because I've been told these have a higher stall speed (2500 r.p.m.)then my stock one. I called my transmission shop and they said it is a totally different converter. Does anyone know if this is correct? Can i use a torqe converter out of a 84 s-10 700r-4,Or did the v-6 s-10s come with a different tranny? Thanks for the help.

The s10 v6 is a 60 degree block 2.8L engine. The transmission is different(it won't bolt to a SBC or 90 degree V6). Not for sure on the torque converter, but maybe the bolt pattern(torque converter to flywheel) is different.

the 4.3 is similar to a 350 ,only short a couple of holes. easy way would be to have a dealer or parts store look it up for you.
