What to do when the Tremec won't cut it?

I know that the TKO is rated at 525tq, but I don't want to be running very close to that rated number. Having to live in fear that my tranny is going to crap on me each time I launch is not something I look forward to. So I'm wondering where I would go from a Tremec TKO. Say I was making power in the 550-600 range. I fully plan on making 450-500+(?) out of a 400sbc, naturally aspirated. But somewhere down the line, I may just be stupid enough to add a supercharger. Then again, if I bought a tranny that couldn't handle the additional power of the SC, then I wouldn't spend the extra money...nah!

A Jerico five speed would probably be the good step up. Five speeds start at $5500 http://www.jericoperformance.com/

A stronger T-56 like the one Hennessey uses in the 650hp Viper tuner car is another option

Then theres the Lenco street version - but those all shift levers might present a problem if you want to keep your console

Thats all I can think of right now - good luck

Where can I find pricing on a T56 tranny? and are you saying a T56, or an upgraded T56?

I'm not exactly sure what Hennessey Motorsports does to the T-56 in the 650hp tuner - but it was that particular one I figured might be strong enough for you.

If you're interested in a regular T-56 used in the Viper try here

www.fortesparts.com try here for a high HP T56,friend of mine ran consistent 10.0's with a TKO,did it for 2 years,he dyno'd over 500 ft-lbs. im gonna give the TKO a try, mainly cause i have no need for the 6speed. Another choice would be a G-Force tranny, they are built strong, almost like a jericho.
