My speedo won't work due to a possible shearing of a gear or gears in my transmission.

What I am hoping for is someone to tell me what the tooth count is on the gears that run the speedo cable coming out from the tailhousing of my transmission.

I have an 89 Camaro 305TBI with a 3.08 ratio rear and a 2.95 ratio T-5 transmission. I am thinking the gears in question are the speedo cable housing gear (the bullet shaped housing that the cable screws into on the side of the tailhousing) or the worm gear that turns the speedo cable housing gear.

If anyone can tell me the correct tooth count so I can order them, please, please chime in. I really don't have the time to tear into the transmission to find out and the Camaro is my daily driver.

yeah, i've been there and have talked with a guy, but he could never tell me the gears I needed, all he could suggest is to take apart the trans and pull the gears out and count the teeth. I was trying to avoid that because I need my car to drive everyday and I figured that if I could find the gear(s), I could order them, take the car to a mechanic, and have them do it for me on the same day.

That site has a chart, you must know what gears are in your rear end right? and how tall your tires are? look on the chart, find your ratio and tire size and order away.
