th-350's don't have a vss. I don't know how the speedo would have worked at all as it requires a vss for speed input

The 350 turbo is not a normal 350 turbo....it's modified to fit where a 700R4 used to be! A 350 Turbo Transmission is shorter than a 700R4 so when the transmission was built a modification kit had to be bought! The kit not only extended the length of the transmission but also allowed the 700R4 tail end to be mounted as well.....therefore, MY 350 turbo DOES have a VSS!! The speedo worked for for about 2 weeks and then stopped! I think the problem is just the gear inside the rear end housing!

Future mods performer rpm air gap intake (polished) and 600 edlebrock carb, comp roller cam, and way better headsa 400 defintely in the works!

Hey I have got the same tranny. I got it from Fort Dodge transmisions in Iowa. It is a TCI. That is weird how they ad on to the input shaft in the trans. Does yours have a spacer that goes on the tailshaft. That fits in between the tailshaft and the trans. Alot of people have never seen such a thing. Kevin

burnoutrpm, something's definately up inside the tailshaft. The tailshaft cable drives the speedometer. The speedometer drives the 1986's VSS. (I know; I have an '86.) Later model cars had the VSS in the tailshaft, and had electronic analog speedometers.
