Clutch pedal question? Need Help!!
Ok I am going to install the pedal assembly. I was looking at the wires that go from my auto shifter under the dash they are Yellow and purple,if I remember correctly. The thick wires on my pedals are I think green and orange. My car is at my parnets house that is why I am not sure. Anyway, even though they are different color wires I believe they are for the same thing. Clutch safety switch, or the auto saftey switch. The connecters are diff too. My car is a 1984 and the pedals are 1992, but this shouldnt matter. Can I just splice the wires? They both have the letters A B on them and say ped #3 so I believe they are the same wires just diff color and connecter. Does anyone know. Thank you very much Kevin
Yes, the purple and yellow wires by the shifter are for enabling the starter. If you had an automatic there is also a purple and yellow wire connector by the pedals, but it is not connected. They are the same. Either can be hooked up to enable the starter while leaving the others disconnected. I'm not sure about the orange and blue ones though. I don't think they are for the starter.

So that's what that connector with wires that I keep stepping on are for.
