Z/ T takeoff vs. Auburn unit

Wanna see how it goes? Read my article on the Trans/Drivetrain board. Just like for 89BlwnRs as the poster and check it out. I had 26 splines like you should have, and I installed a ZT take-off.

I recently installed a ZT take-off from SLP in my 89. Both the ZT and the Auburn are set up the same way, except the ZT is only for 28 spline axles. If your car is an 85, you have 26 spline axles. You can always swap 28 spline axles in, they're a little stronger due to their spline count, and they're not necked down like the factory GM ones are when you approach the C-clip.

Hope this helps,

Jason

powertrax.

new bearings might be a good idea, and different gears if you want them.

If your current gears are acceptable, the powertrax installs without removing the gears/carrier. All that comes out is the spider gears.
