I want to get rid of this high dollar money pit they call a transmission and get a 350 i heard there was a kit to bolt one right in.

I put one in mine. I forget what size tailshaft you need but the tranny is 32 inches long, give or take an 1/8 or so. I was able to use my driveline. It had a V6 in it and I put in a 350 and TH350. You can get a torque arm bracket adapter from Summit for about $80. I made my own out of 3/8 plate. Much stronger. Hope this helps.

I also forgot about the tranny crossmember. I took a piece of angle iron and welded it to the crossmember and drilled 2 holes in it for the tranny. It's pretty easy to do if you have a torch and welder or know someone who does. If you want I can make it for you. Let me know. bhaas@bigfoot.com

 

i bought my 83 that alreadt has a kit installed so it used a 350 trans.All it was is a different tailshaft,and used the 700 taolshaft housing.it bolted right up to the existing x member.I had it rebuilt and it has 100 miles on it.I parted the car.yo ucan have it fo r$300 o.b.o.
