gearing question
this is going to sound stupid but here goes i have no idea what rear gear ratio i have and i would really like to know for future gearing puposes i dont think it is the one that came it my car because the guy i bought it from kinda peiced the car together what i do know is the trans is a v8 t5 and at 60 in 5th im only slighly off idle, if it helps its a non posi

Have one rear tire on the ground, the other in the air, and the transmission in neutral. Spin the tire that's in the air until the driveshaft makes one rotation. Half the number of tire rotations is the gear ratio, so expect to turn the tire about 7 rotations for one driveshaft rotation.

the best way to find out what ratio you have is to remove the cover and count the teeth on the gears. Then divide the ring gear teeth by the pinion teeth = gear ratio. This would also provide the opportunity to change the gear oil(who knows how long it's been there). hope this helps
