Cost of speedo gears for gear swap?

I will be changing my rear end gearing from 2.77 to 3.42 here soon and was wondering what I should expect to pay for a speedo gear cable so my speedo isn't off.

The cable is the same, you're changing the speedo gears in the tailshaft of your 700R4 trans. I think they're less than $20 each from GM. You need a 15 tooth and a 41 tooth for 3.42 gears in a 700R4, *I think*

I concur. Those are the gears listed in the GM parts manual for that combination of tranny, rear gears, and tires (assuming you have 245/50R16 tires). I also bought either the 40-tooth or 42-tooth gear for my shorter (245/45R16) road-race tires since it's only an easy 10-minute job to swap that gear out. The other gear is quite a bit more difficult, which is why I had my shop do it when they rebuilt the rear end.
