Which tranny and rearend to buy?

I have intentions of putting a 383 in my 89RS. I'm hoping for between 450 to 550 hp. What would be a good manual tranny and rearend combo would work best. Also any rearends that are advised what could I pull it from. My intentions are to have a fast 1/4 mile gas guzzler with no regards to top end, however still be able to drive it daily if I choose to. Thanks in advance for any advice.

What would be a good car to pull the 9" from. Preferably with disc brakes to save me some trouble.

I would recomend an aftermarket rear from a company like curie that will give you anything you want(gears, posi, disc brakes, etc.) in a 9 inch that will directly bolt up to your car no cutting or welding neccessary.

I would also recommend going with Currie. Since you live in Oceanside, they are probably an hour away from you at most. This would be best for a no-hassle install, even if you plan on doing it yourself.

I have been to the yards in Oceanside and San Diego. 9 inches are not easy to come by, and when you do find one, these guys know what to ask for them.
