Driver controlled shifts??

I was looking at a trans go kit for a 700R4 and it said gives driver full control over shifts...won't shift till you move the shifter. I am guessing this only applies when you are shifting yourself like putting it in 1st and then shifting to 2nd etc...but what about if its in D or OD, does it shift normally, just firmer??
Thanks

When installed as a stage 3 kit, the TransGo kit I'm familiar with converts the transmission to full manual control. As a stage 2 kit, the transmission upshifts normally in OD but may be kept in a lower gear at any RPM by moving the selector to a lower position.

Is it the same thing as the B&M megashifter? I can drop it into 1st and it will only go as high as first... but if I drop it into 3rd, then it will go through 1st-3rd and back down (3rd-1st) when I slow down. (I know the megashifter is a shifter and the TransGo kit installs into the tranny... but is that what he is asking too sort of?)

Not really, the megashifter (and all aftermarket shifters for that matter) work essentially the same as the factory shifter. A stock 700R4 supposedly will actually upshift somewhere around or above 6000 RPM regardless of the selector position. The TransGo kit will prevent this from happening.
