spedo dosent work

Car: 92 camaro, 06 trailblazer ss
Engine: 5.0 tbi, 6.0 ls2
spedo dosent work
I knowticed that my spedo didnt work and my car kicked out a code 24 for a vss problem. Are these signs that i need a new vss or could it be somthing else how much might this cost to replace and it's a 88 with a 2.8l auto any help is appreciated thanks David.
