rebuilds and used torque convertors
Did a shift kit intallation and typical mod upgrade to a low mileage 700R4.
I've had no trouble with similar projects however this trans lasted all of 4 quarter mile passes before the 3-4 gears went away.
It was suggested that the torque convertor ( a TCI Street Fighter ) may have been contaminated with clutch material from it's previous installation and ruined the rebuild.
Anyone have similar experiences?

Torque converters are notoriously hard to flush. It's kind of like trying to get all the water out of an old tire.
