What died!?! Kinda long (sorry!)
This weekend, while running around for my girlfriends baby shower, I wanted to stop and wash my TA. All the carwashes were packed and I drove around to try to find one. Didn't succeed. On my home strech I took a right turn and gave a little more gas then coustmary (I didn't stomp it) and when my 700r4 went to shift from 1st to 2nd all I got was mush from it. My power was all gone! Nothing. I felt like a cement truck with a full load! I could get it to move but the engine was not happy about it. I have no idea where the tach was sitting due to an electrical prob. with the dash. (see Electronics - Short of the Century) I only had my ears to know when to let up. It never left what I guess was first gear but I never heard or felt it change after the turn. The trany was rebuilt back in Dec of '99 and only has about 15000 miles on it after the rebuild. I was told it could be the ?torc? converter (can't spell). I really don't know. I know it felt weird ever since we got a lot of snow but I didn't really have to beat on it that much to get it moving. It just jumped between 1st and second a bit. HELP! I need this car to live. It's all I have to keep me sane!

did the engine keep reving up but u didn't to anywhere? if so that happened to me to i got on it making a turn not to much shifted from 1st to 2nd and pressed the gas and no movement the tach just went up then after a second it caught again and it was fine. i was worried my tranny might be going to. it is possible though that the clutch was hot and not catching i have heard that.

It would move but I was pushing 5-6000 rpm and I most likely would have not have been able to do more than 40 mph. I don't really know how it happened. I had to get it home and it was about 5 + miles. I got no power the whole way home. It was, as I said, like driving a cement truck.

Are you talking just idle in gear or giving it some gas?
