I have a 92 305 auto with suspension mods. The car handles great but as I exit a turn the trans has a tendicy to downshift. Whys it do this, and if its a problem how do i fix it.

Red 92 t-top camaro lowered, edelbrock stb, konis, high flow cat, flowmaster, tinted windows, stereo, and gears.

 

If you step on it of course it will downshift. Your speed will also decrease as you enter the turn, this may cause the tranny to downshift depending on mph.... I'd write it off as normal behavior.

 

I think your tranny is acting normally. Did this happen before you got new rear end gears? Your up/downshift points may be skewed by the different gears.

I think blade had it right since I enter the turn the car slows down and it dowshifts. I just think its weird because it never usually does something like that. Say its a real some sharp turn just like your in a circle and if your going 30 i'll shift down to first gear and the motor would be at 4500 just a humming. Im going to right it off as normal behavior. I don't know to much about trannys and want to learn some more. BTW what is the tv cable (I think) that everyone talks about and what does it do.

 

Opps forgot to answer 82z. I really dont know if it did this before the gears because i never really drove her hard round turns till I did suspesion mods

 

tv cable is the throttle valve cable it tells the trans how much throttle is being used so the trans can calibrat its up and down shifts check your atf fluid level might possible be a normal concern does the trans feel like it goes into neutral when your in the turn what gear does it feel like it down shift to fluid smell burnt any other shift problems or engagement problems?
