?'s about TV cable and governor relating to shift timing and firmness

Does the TV control shift firmness and the governor control shift timing? After installing a rebuilt trans(2600 stall), my car shifts from 1st to 2nd to 3rd by the time it reaches 20 MPH (part throttle). This causes the car to lug at part throttle. I have reset the TV cable several times. Do I need to switch to the governor from my old trans? The governor from my stock trans was for th 350TPI, now I have Miniram,zz9x cam,headers,ign.,10psi ATI. Would the decrease in bottom end torque make the stock governor cause the trans to shift to soon? Do I need to recal the governor with lighter weights and/or springs to get the car to shift later? Does the 2600 stall soften the shifts because of slippage? Can I get firmness back by installing a shift kit or would it still be soft due to the convertor? Any help would be appreciated.

The governor and tv control shift timing. The tv also controls mainline pressure, pump volume and shift firmness. The easiest way to change shift timing is with the governor. I'm pretty sure your bottom end torque is intact. Even if it wasn't the tranny wouldn't know. Shifts are based on throttle position and road speed. Your shifts may seem softer due to more slippage in the convertor. A shift kit would fix that nicely. Oh yeah to make the trans shift later you need lighter weights or springs.
